Pressing Cmd+V on macOS prints a 'v' character instead of pasting the text

In some cases, a 'v' character is pasted when pressing Cmd+V on macOS to paste a text that was previously copied.

Steps to reproduce:

- do not use the mouse
- use Cmd+Tab to switch to a new app (e.g., Notes) that you haven't copied from recently
- use Cmd+Tab to switch to the NoMachine session window
- quickly press Cmd+V to paste: it pastes a "v"
- wait about 1 second
- press Cmd+V again: it pastes the correct text.
