NoMachine mobile how to disable or re-enable Welcome panels

When launching NoMachine on a mobile device, welcome panels appear when the application starts or when a session begins. These panels provide basic guidance on using NoMachine and explain how to access settings during a session. The Welcome panels can be turned off or re-enabled at any time.

The following instructions apply to NoMachine version 9 for iOS and Android.

First method

i) To stop the Welcome panels from appearing when opening the NoMachine application, select the option “Don't show this dialog anymore” located at the bottom of the Welcome panel. After enabling this option, the Welcome panels will no longer be shown when starting the application.

The Welcome panel (which displays the computer’s local IP address) can be shown again by clicking the “Restore default player settings” button located at the bottom left of the Settings > Player panel in the client user interface.

ii) To disable the Welcome panels that appear after connecting to the remote desktop, select the option “Don't show this dialog anymore” or “Don't show anymore for this connection”. These panels provide quick guidance about settings that can also be accessed at any time from the session menu (Ctrl+Alt+0), such as display options for the remote desktop or enabling audio.

These Welcome panels can be restored by selecting the “Reset saved preferences and password” option when editing the corresponding connection settings. Please note that performing this reset will also restore all default settings. If you only want to display the Welcome panels again, consider using one of the alternative methods described below.

Second method

Administrators can also disable the Welcome panels from the server configuration file on the host the user connects to. This configuration applies to all connections made through the NoMachine client as well as through web sessions.

To prevent the Welcome panels from being displayed, edit the server.cfg file and set:

ClientMenuConfiguration input,display,display-mode,display-settings,connection,devices,devices-disk,devices-printer,devices-usb,devices-network,devices-smartcard,audio,audio-settings,mic,mic-settings,recording

In practice, list all available values in the key except “welcome”.

To enable the Welcome panels again, add “welcome” to the list of values in the ClientMenuConfiguration key or set it to:

ClientMenuConfiguration all

The Welcome panels will be displayed again in new sessions, unless users choose to hide them.
