How to add Machine Ids to your Machines book
The Machines book acts like a contact list for machines which you know and which have been published on NoMachine Network. Any machines you add to your Machines book follow your User Id across any device, so that wherever you login with your User Id, your machines are right there.
Why use the Machine Book?
- Sync across devices: Sign in on any new laptop or tablet and view your Machines book from any device.
- Quick launch: Start a session or create a connection file directly from the list.
- No more Ids: Keeps your Machine Id and Access Id safely stored.
How to add a Machine Id
There are two ways to add a Machine Id to your Machines book:
i) When you publish your computer on NoMachine Network, do the following:
- Login to NoMachine Network.
- Go to Machines and add your computer to Network.
- Then go to Machines.
- You will see the "Add this to your machine book" link in the bottom-right corner.
- Click it.
- In the next panel, you can add a description and, if you want, define which user(s) is/are allowed to connect to it over NoMachine Network.
- Finally, click on button 'Add'. The Machine Id is instantly added.
2) Alternatively, if the connection to the Machine Id is already in your connections roster:
- Click on the connection icon and enter the Edit configuration.
- Click on the link on the bottom right "Add to your Network machine book".
Why add Machine Ids to the machine book when you publish it on NoMachine Network?
This is useful when you are connecting from a new device. The connections roster that you see when you open NoMachine ('Machines') is an "address book" local to the device. This means that when you login from a new device, the Machines roster will be different. It stores the connections that you start from that device. Adding the Machine Ids of the computers you connect to to your Machines book means that wherever you go, when you login to NoMachine Network, you will have them right there, with you.
