Uninstalling NoMachine Player on Windows leaves shortcuts after an automatic update from Enterprise Client

On Windows, after updating from NoMachine Enterprise Client to NoMachine Player through the automatic software updates, uninstalling the application is unable to remove the shortcuts on the desktop and in the Start menu.

This problem occurs because software updates can't update the previous shortcut paths and names stored in the uninstall procedure, created at the time the package was installed the first time.

As workaround:
- Install a NoMachine Player package on top of the existing NoMachine Enterprise Client install, in order to update the uninstall procedure correctly

or

- Delete the shortcut "NoMachine Player" on the desktop, if existing
- Open the file browser, past the following path in the URL input bar, and delete the file "NoMachine Player":
   %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\
