NoMachine 4 sharing services explained
NoMachine services such as connecting disks (file system sharing), printer sharing and USB forwarding all exhibit specific behavior.
Connect disks
- If you are connecting from your PC to two different NoMachine servers via the Player and sessions have been started on the same display number, you will be able to share a local folder only with one of these sessions.
- When you are connecting disks, the destination folder should not exist or it should be an empty folder.
Share printers
- Since the CUPS printing subsystem doesn't accept printer names containing spaces, NoMachine replaces a blank space with an underscore.
- When you print from your PC to a printer on the remote in a session running on Linux, you cannot have feedback on the print job status due to a limitation of the printing subsystem.
Forward USB devices
- If you forward a local USB to the remote session, it is likely this devices is connected on the remote machine. If it's a pendrive, it will stop to blink until it is connected with NoMachine. If it's your mouse, all inputs will be transferred on remote and will not have any effects on your local cursor.
