The NoMachine app freezes on some Chromebook models
When trying to connect by NoMachine from a Chromebook, it can happen that the client hangs on the spinning wheel at stage 'Connecting to ...'. After some time the application becomes completely unresponsive and eventually gets closed by the system.
This problem has been reported for the first time on Chrome OS v. 77, but it's not related to the Chrome version.
It is instead strictly related to the Chromebook model and the behaviour of the translation layer which emulates ARM architecture.
The solution is to provide NoMachine for Android as a bundle of architecture's packages (ARM/i686/x86_64) so that the user can download the appropriate package native for the architecture of his/her chromebook.
Based on some reports and lab tests, users cannot connect by NoMachine v. 6.1.9 or later on the following Chromebook models. Tests have been made with the Chrome versions listed below:
Acer CB3-431 - Chrome OS 80 Beta
Dell 3400 - Chrome OS 78 and 79
Samsung Chromebook 4 - Chrome OS 79
Samsung Chromebook XE510C24 - Chrome OS 79
Connections by NoMachine work instead on the following models, tested with Chrome versions listed below:
Lenovo S330 - Chrome OS 77, 78 and 79
Lenovo C330 - Chrome OS 78
Acer CB3-431 - Chrome OS 76, 77, 78 and 79
SOLVED, Released in version 8
