Avoiding time drift when running NX 3.5.0 within VMware Linux guests

When running NX server and NX node within a VMware Linux guest, NX sometimes can log a message like

"Proxy: WARNING! Detected drift in system timer. Resetting to current time."

This message is not caused by NX, it is only detected and reported by NX. The warning is related to the VMware Linux guest not being set up properly.

Unfortunately, there is no simple catch-all rule for Linux guests because the kernel time-keeping methods changed between various kernel versions.

VMware Inc. wrote a comprehensive how-to document covering this issue:

listing verified per-distribution settings. Please refer to these documents when setting up NoMachine within VMware Linux guests.
