If you have a free edition of v9 or earlier installed, you can continue to use it. However, you won't be able to update it to version 10. It is not possible to update a free edition installation using the Personal Edition package because they are two different products.

As of NoMachine 10, the NoMachine free edition which was available to install and use for personal and non-commercial use has been discontinued. From NoMachine 10 onwards, users of the free edition who wish to try version 10 for either personal or commercial use can consider using the NoMachine Personal Edition for the machines they wish to reach. All client-side software, namely Enterprise Client and the mobile apps, continue to be free to install and use.

All v10 server products are available for download from the website, to activate the server software users should login or create an account and proceed to their User Area to generate a 14-day evaluation license for the products they are interested in.
