How to make NX Server 3.5.0 work on IBM Power platform

Porting NX to the Power platform is not currently in the NoMachine road-map. However, what you could do is use a separate machine running x86 or x86_64 Linux and NoMachine NX and then from there allow your users to make X connections to these Power machines.


Effectively you would end up with: NX Client (via NX protocol compression/caching) > NX Server > X > Power and then Power > X > NX Server > NX Client (via NX protocol compression/caching)

The result would be that NoMachine NX would provide compression/caching on the connection both back and forth between the NX Server and NX Client. So X would come back down to the NX Session on the NX Server and then would be compressed/cached between the NX Client and NX Server.

This is NX acting as a proxy in the same way as we do for RDP/VNC/X currently.
