Does NoMachine have any plans to release a HP/UX and AIX version of NoMachine Server?
HP/UX and AIX were in our original plans but we decided to suspend the development due to the little amount of interest shown by the market. While these popular Unices are still widely deployed in corporates' data-centers, they are mainly used for traditional tasks, such as web and heavy duty database serving and little interest is shown in having these platforms host office automation activities and other server-based desktop computing tasks. Offering a native version for a platform currently not available is not improbable, so users should contact us to see if a port can be expected for their platform, or if a custom project is a feasible option.
However, Unix-like hosts not running NoMachine software (let's call them 'Foreign X Servers') can be integrated in a multi-host environment with a NoMachine server working as single point of access. NoMachine will allow users to access the physical desktops of such hosts through X11 forwarding over SSH.
Since NoMachine v. 6, Foreign X Servers can be federated under a Cloud Server, see https://www.nomachine.com/FR02O03334.
In v. 5 instead, Foreign X Servers can be added to a multi-node environments ruled by a Cloud Server or Enterprise Server (https://www.nomachine.com/AR07M00849)
