You can use nxagent with any pre-existing X-Window system. nxagent will still need the NX X libraries that are packaged together with the nxnode install (requiring nxclient for providing the the compression libraries and the tiny bits of server GUI). These X libraries are only used within the NX sessions. They don't interfere with the X libraries installed in the system.
