Thi problem occurs trying to share the physical display showing the login screen of Gnome Display Manager (gdm), version 3.36.

Because of recent changes in GDM, the login screen is launched along with a new dbus session daemon.

Session log reports:

16584 16596 22:35:45 372.965 DBus: ERROR! Expected 'o' in reply.
16584 16596 22:35:45 373.120 DBus: ERROR! Got 's'.

and:

Error: Failed to create remote desktop session.
