Hardware encoding fails on macOS 15.1 due to an invalid encoder parameter
The problem has been reproduced on a Mac mini server with the M2 chip running macOS 15.1. The NoMachine version was 8.16.1. Software encoding is used as a fallback.
When the issue occurs, the session log reports the following error from the hardware encoder:
534 96515 2025-03-21 11:08:01 951.245 VTCSession/VTCSession: ERROR! Failed to set maximum frame counter.
Trouble report solved in version 9.1.24.
